Kopi Roti @ Tomas Morato

One sunny Saturday, I felt an urge to have some Kaya Toast and soft-boiled eggs. After a quick internet research, I learned that Kopi Roti was just 2 jeepney rides away from my house.

It wasn’t really a good idea to go out of the house that day since the traffic was horrible and the weather was scorching hot. But I still went out anyway.

I got there, a bit sweaty and tired but I really needed my Kaya toast fix and in just as few minutes after ordering, there it was. Kaya Toast and soft-boiled eggs and a cold milk tea.

Honestly, it wasn’t as good as I imagined it. I was probably expecting too much, that it would taste the same as the Kaya toast in Singapore. The bread as too toasty, the butter was too salty, there wasn’t enough bread to butter to jam ratio and the soft-boiled eggs weren’t as “soft” as I wanted it to be. Disappointment aside, I still enjoyed the cold milk tea I had that sunny Saturday. It was still worth the travel.
